An achilles tendon injury may include tenderness, swelling, stiffness, or hearing a popping sound when the injury occured. It is mainly caused by tendenitis and too much force. When this tendon had too much force, it can tear or rupture. The achilles tendon is one of the longer tendons in your body. It stretches from the heel bone to the calf muscles. Injuring this tendon can cause a lot of pain. It takes time to recover from an achilles tendon injury. Examples of injuries of the achilles tendon are tears, ruptures, and tendenitis.
