Other than from sports or overuse, an achilles tendon injury can occurbecause of footwear, the arch position of your foot, and because of tight muscles and tendons. If most of the shoes you wear are high heels, then this could be why you have an achilles tendon injury. This is because it puts lots of stress on the tendon. If you have flat feet, otherwise known as fallen arches, then this may be another cause. When you take a step with your foot if you have a flat foot, it causes the arch of your foot to collapse which as an affects stretches out the achilles tendon. With tight tendons and muscles if you start exercise suddenly, then this puts your achilles tendon in risk for being torn or ruptured. If you start sudden exericise it can alarm the tendon because it hasn't been stretched out yet. Make sure that you wear correct shoes, go to a specialist about foot problems, and stretch out your calf muscles.
